Power Evacuation Studies

Power Evacuation Studies are plans for evacuating power generated from a generating source to a load centre. In the simplest form, it may mean only load flow studies with proposed transmission and distribution plans. When complete engineering is involved, the entire spectrum of power system analysis/studies may have to be performed. Power Evacuation Studies may mean, studies related to new generation facility and its connectivity to the grid for evacuation of the power or may mean studies related to existing facilities to study alternative plans of power evacuation for operational purposes.

The Consultant has carried out design of the transmission system required to evacuate the power from the proposed 1x660 MW set at VTPS (Vijayawada Thermal Power Station) by undertaking the following studies:

  • Review Long Term Load Forecasts for AP State and prepare Bus Wise Load Forecasts
  • Review Generation Projects planned and prepare Generation Dispatches
  • Review Transmission Network Expansion plans proposed and prepare alternate Transmission Network Expansion Plan for the purpose of study
  • Load Flow Analysis for years 2000, 2005,2010
  • Short Circuit Studies
  • Transient Stability Studies
  • Exhaustive Outage Studies
  • Investigation of Alternate Network Configurations and determination Least Cost Network Evacuation Plan.
